The air con on my car is broken so I've decided to remove it. I will obviously need to change the drive belt (and degas it) before taking it off, is it just a straight swap between the aux drivebelt for engines without air con and the belt for engines with air con? Looking at the aux drivebelt diagram in the haynes manual it seems that the tensioner won't touch the non-air con aux belt but when looking at the engine itself it seems that the non-air con aux belt will be tensioned by the tensioner anyway? Or will I have to rely on the alternator to tension the belt?
