    Possible ECU failing

    Hello ladies and Gents,

I might have a little bit of a problem,

A while back my ECU failed one me (before i go further its a Z14XE), the car had major problems starting and eventually just died.

I bought an ECU from Fleabay without a clue how old it was and had it fitted which solved my problem... or has it!

WHen the ECU was just about starting to die originally i noticed that when i started up the car the following needles would bounce around like a kid with a belted arse!:

    Petrol gauge needle
    Speedo needle
    Rev counter needle.

And well youve guessed it, this is starting to happen again, its making no difference to the starting of the car at the moment but im concerned it could!

If anyone can help me Autosparks can lol (where are you matey?) youll probably remember me drilling through the wiring loom a while back! Could that be it ?

All other opinions welcome please, put my mind at ease

    Sorry for long post

    Thanks
    Wayne

This normally happens when the battery is low and your taking all the battery power to start the engine. Check your battery, earths and alternator with a volt meter to make sure its charging correctly.

I would agree with you mate but the batter y was changed approx 2 months ago! Im only running a small sub and amp off of it so i doubt that would nick so much charge!

Any tips of where to look for earths ? and what readings i should be looking for ?

    thanks
