why do my ECU's keep failing?

hi all, i have a 1.8 sri, since buying it, its gone through 2 ecu's, its the z18xe engine, ive heard its a common fault on that engine becuase of the ecu been bolted to the engine block. im considering selling the car now because of all the trouble its caused me but ive spent too much money on it so far. i understand the z18xe engines stopped been put in an astra in 2002 but they carried on putting them in other vauxhalls like the vectra c. im thinkin about buying a new z18xe engine from a vectra c with low mileage. do you think this would solve my problems??
    thanks

What ECUs do you keep buying? If they are second hand then that is your problem, the ECU is very common to fail on these engines due to the location it gets very very warm and damp which is not good for electronics! I got my ECU refurbished 2 years ago and is still going fine. Check out www.ecu-testing.com they will fix your ECU for about £250 and give you a 2 year warranty on it.

    Cheers.
