    M.O.T failure?

I changed my seats a few months back to some astra coupe half leathers. the car was in a accident and the yellow tags inside the the seat belt tensioners are popped out. so on my dash i have a airbag light on. anyway i have m.o.t in 4 weeks and someone told me its a failure?

Yes, it is, plus it's dangerous to drive & might invalidate your insurance.
You will need to replace the seatbelt pre-tensioners on each seat (simple enough job) & also have the airbag ecu reset on Tech2, to let it know the pre-tensioners are replaced & put out the airbag light.
There are some listed on ebay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=a...ners&_osacat=0
New ones were over £100 per seat from Vauxhall, last time I priced them.

I already have the tensioners on my old seats but couldnt be assed to change them if they dont fail. but owell im gonna have to take them bloody seats out again and the bolts are hard to undo. I wasnt expecting it to fail just for the fact that all cars dont have airbags. I take it i would have to go vauxhall to get the ecu reset?

As above mate its a fail if the pre tensioners have gone off, best thing is to swap your old ones back, as mentioned and get the light turned off, thats if it doesnt go out when the tensioners are replaced

I have MOT'd a few astra's with popped pre-tensioners and they havent failed, I have alsocut off the yellow tabs with a sanley knife before so it doesnt look so obvious LOL, just get the blade right down in the opening to cut them nice and close. That should tide you over tillyou can be bothered to change them.

it wont, well shouldn't fail for the pre tensioners having gone off. as long as the seatbelt can still fasten and release from the buckle and the pre-tensioner is secure to the seat it will be fine.
