Cheap flights to and from USA - big shock

Have decided next year, g.f and I are going to America (trying not to impersonate Borat there at all )

So, as you do, did some research into flights and was surprised as to how cheap we can get them for.

Plan is to fly to Washington DC and spend a week with my family over there, before catching a flight up the east coast to Boston to spend a 2nd week with the g.f's family. Then to head back from Boston to London, more than likely Heathrow.

For the 3 flights in total, EACH was a smidge over £350! And that was flying BA on the international UK-USA then USA-UK flights, then United Airlines for the internal flight.

I know where I am off to next year, can't wait now!

My brother was browsing the net a month ago and came across flights to the US (NY) for £230 return.

He duly bought one and has just come back from a weeks holiday 'for shits n giggles'

yeah, I know, will be a big saving there! The family have been asking for ages, both mine and the g.fs when we will be going over to visit, and the fact flights are so cheap, and we can both afford it, then why not!

it will be cheaper to spend 2 weeks in America next year then it was for 10 nights in a 5* hotel in Tenerife that we did this year!

What a bugger! I just got back from the U.S after visiting my G.F (who is still currently a US citizen, but wants to move here) and the flights cost £645 return) I flew with American Airlines from Manchester to Chicago and then American Eagle into Moline (Quad cities airport) That was booked through Expedia.

You're not the first one to have said that either mate. To be honest, the two weeks i spent over there with the missus i absolutely loved it, I seemed to get on allright with pretty much the whole family. The only things that stops it, is that the missus wants to move here to ol' Blighty and the huge amount of paperwork and what not now required to get into the US. But more importantly is that i read you need to be offered a job over there before you an emmigrate
