    Someone scuffed my car earlier

I went to grab my ipod from my car and as I left to cross the road I turned to look at the car that was reversing slowly into my car and it bumped it.

I was in my crocs so I chased it up the street banging on his window. All I got is the registration number though because he wouldn't give me many details and kept saying its only a small scuff. Tbh it is fairly small but I am still not happy.

Is there anything the insurance company can do about it?

If it's a small scuff, I'd not bother with the insurance company tbh mate.

Infom the police and they can follow him up and prosecute him for leaving the scene of an accident.

you will need a witness to confirm the car, colour number plate and damage done, dont think the police will be bothered, good luck cos its not the amount of damage but the principle of it.

I know what the car is and the number plate. A van that always parks at the hairdressers on the road was in-front of the car and saw the accident. I could always ask them but I'm unsure about whether to take it further. Its scuffed paint but as 'ledster' said its the principle

Police, try and screw the barsteward for as much as you can.It has already shown a complete lack of common decency by failing to take resposibility for its actions.

What if it had been a big scratch, dent or a child knocked over?

This is the type of small scale stuff that should be stamped on as hard as any acident.

    Just my hap'enny worth.

    As mentioned - Police
He failed to give details at scene of accident and has 24 hours to submit them to a police station or can be done for failing to stop

it'll serve the bugger as he's probably not insured

Worth phoning the police and shopping him, for all its worth. Sounds like a right ***** for brushing it off as only a scuff.

i wouldnt really care how big the scratch was, if he did it then he should pay to have it repaired. As said i would inform police, they can do him for leaving the scene and failing to provide details! Its arseholes like him that make this country the pile of crap that its turning into!
