    AC troubleshooting help needed

    Hi everyone,

Bought a 2001 Astra 1.7 LS DTI but it's AC is not working. It might need regassing but I think that it has another fault too.

When I press the AC button the LED lights and the fans come on but there is no "clunk" sound that my previous car used to make when the AC was turned on.

I checked fuses (39 and 40) and they are OK. Any ideas what could be wrong or how to troubleshoot it?

    Thanks in advance

could be that your condensor needs replacing, put a search in for threads relating to A/C failure etc and previous posts should come up, if not im sure people will reply to this thread. goodluck.

Try a regas as if it's low the compressor will not run hence no clunk.
