Do I have to oil the sump plug? Oil change virgin!

Just doing my first solo oil change! I know I have to oil around the ring on the new oil filter before I put it on, but what about the new sump plug/washer? Do these need oiling? Or do they just go straight on? thanks very much

nearly there now gents! One LAST thing, how accurate are the haynes figures for amount of oil? It says 3.25 litres, will it take slightly less? I'm petrified of putting too much in!
