    Astra G airon top tip!

Some of you may already know this, but there's apparently a very common point of failure in the Astra G aircon system (as I've just found out myself). Road grime/grit/salt/etc builds up between the fan and condenser causing the condenser to rust and then fail. To stop this from happeneing follow the steps below once a year:

    1. Remove the two nuts/bolts that hold the fan in place
    2. Pull the fan away from the condenser
    3. Use a brush to clean the condener
    4. re-attach fan
    5. Job done!

    Thanks for the tip.

Did you have to remove the bumper to do this?

No need to remove the bumper on petrol models (there is enough room to pull the fan forwards with the bumper still on). However I'd image on diesels there's an intercooler someone behind the bumper that may or may not get in the way.
