Mk4 Astra Coupe Angel Eyes alignment problem - help needed

My Astra Coupe Mk4 (2002) has just failed its MOT due to the headlight alignment pointing too far down. (It has passed two MOT's previously with these lights although I have had a slight knock to the front bumper which may have affected the alignment.)

I've taken the car to a garage who have tried to align them but say it can't be done.

I have to get this fixed asap without the expense of needing new lights. I'm sure there must be a way to adjust them? Any advice or help appreciated.

    Thanks

    Nick

Why are they saying it cant be done? I cant see how the adjustment screws/knobs would be affected by a slight knock to the bumper.

Have you tried adjusting them yourself just to see if the mechanism works?

Most garages do this for you before testing as its such a small job to do.

There talkin sh**e when i fitted mine they took a while setting them partly because the bulb was in the wrong way round and the shape was wrong so if u have removed the bulb try turning it and putting it back in.

When you had the bump did the bottom bracket break on the lights, hence each unit is facing downwards?
Tell me what you've done, not what you're going to!

The ball and socket get brittle over time on the inside of the lights and can break.

To check try and move the bulb in and out and see if the reflector is loose
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...
