    BP Super Diesel anyone?

As per title, how many of you guys regularly use Super Diesel (or its various counterparts) instead of the regular stuff? Reason I ask is that for the first time since I've had my diesel MK5, yesterday lunch time I ended up at a pump at the BP station that had the Super stuff and so I though what the heck might as well try it. So on the drive home, cruised on the motorway around 65-70mph and checked the average mpg when I got home and it said 67mpg! I couldn't believe it, I've only ever gotten around 60mpg thus far with some extremely conservative driving. It also felt smoother and I noticed a bit more power there (or may be that's just me). So just wanted to know anyone elses experience using this stuff. If I can get over 580ish miles on the tank, I think it may just be worth switching over from standard diesel.

I ran my old 1.7 on BP Ultimate Diesel and it made the world of difference, drove so much smoother. Similarly the VXR drives better on Tesco's 99RON.

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

I find the best is BP's or Morrisons

All other diesel makes the car run a little crapper till it gets used to it.

ive use normal Shell fuel tbh, when i used Sheel derv for two months or so seemed to make minimal difference, especially for the price difference it was cotsting me.

I run my vectra on the shell v power diesel & it does seem to get more MPG for not much more money tbh, it works out about £5 more if that for a full tank, but can get about 50 or so more miles out of it.

Sorry for the silly question....but why is vpower derv better than normal derv for my engine, for example?

What does it have in it??

I know it would increase performance...but can you feel the difference when you put your foot down?

I have to admit I did feel a difference in the throttle and power and with the sports button on, you can definitely feel the diff. After a bit of enthusiastic driving plus the motorway miles, currently sitting at 60.1mpg as opposed to the usual 55 or 56, so definitely a difference there.
