What price would you estimate for these dents?

Sorry I can't upload pics! But I will describe them

    I've got
    1) a couple of dents in the tailgate from the missus reversing into trees etc. (these dents are both about 3 inches in length, and look like they can simply be hammered out and quickly re-sprayed)
    2) A superficial scuff on the corner of my back bumper
    3) And 'bubbly' paintwork (some would call it rust!) about 2 inches tall running the length of my passenger door.

My local Bodywork place quoted me £100 for the tailgate and bumper, with and extra £25 for the door rust thing.

    So £125 all in.

Is that a decent price? (My mechanic personally recommends this Bodywork geezer as he is trustworthy etc.)

I'm going to get a 2nd quote tomorrow...

Your thougths are much appreciated as I am very new to Bodywork and prices...

For £25 I assume they'll just strip back to the metal and respray? This kind of repair might last a few months, but the rust will return! Only way to get rid of it will be to replace the door.

Yeah that's what the bodywork man said The funny thing is the 'rust' is just bubbly paint and doesn't show rust colur, and it hasn't increased in size for the last 18 months (since i bought the car).

How much for a door though, fitted? I don't have much cash.

Thanks for your help and advice.

if you're convinced it's not rust, then sand it back yourself to see. book the car in to have the other dents done, and if your "work" on the door doesn't show up a case of tin-worm then go ahead and get it done at the same time

i'm not convinced one way or the other, as i am so new to bodywork jobs etc. I'm a total novice
i am simply going on the 'expertise' of the body man, and you guys on ere

But you guys are really boosting my knowledge bank...so fanx!

iansimms2004 - lol, i'm surprised it's taken this long for someone to say what you said about my username! I would've said the same if someone else had my name lol
But my name is nothing to do with jackson.

The body work man comes highly recommended locally, so we shall see
