    Z20let MAP question :)

I have recently purchased VXR AFM and VXR injectors inc the rail. Courtney and regal site say not to fit these w/o a remap.

Has anyone fitted them anyway or is it strictly not advised w/o the remap.

I have phase 3 set up now as I have VXR turbo and front mount etc already fitted.

I was under the impression that you definetly do need mapping for both these parts. I could be wrong and I maybe lead to believe this as that is what both Regal and Courtney say.

I know some people fit these parts outside Courtney/Regal and then push them in for the mapping to occur, wether this is neccasery I do not know?

So fitting them before the remap is generally ok. Its annoying because its a easy upgrade to fit and I could save a few £££ not having them fit it basically.

the car will generally run ok without a map but i mean on gentle revs etc - ie should be ok to fit them on the day and pootle along to the tuners

give it some serious beans and youll more than likely get the christmas tree lights and limp mode

oh and remember to retain the ZLET FPR as it runs higher pressure than the LEH one

Really didnt know that I guess generally you would think the LEH one would be higher in pressure. As its a fair drive I think ill get them to install it I cant afford any mishaps!!!

if you fit them before a remap you will damage the afm and over fuel the car with the bigger injectors.
iv had a few customers do this with out having the map. ended in tears!

    Kinda contradicting yourself there

One minute you say it will cause damage then by your own admission, its only happened on a few ocassions.

The following reply confirms its not as clear cut as you portrayed.....hence my original reply

Just trying to add some neutral opinions to this thread as your reply made it sound like damage was inevitable.

Speaking to Oggy @ Red.Dot, he said if you stay off boost then it's ok, but the car will no doubt bring up error codes as the fuel trim will be wrong as will the air flow.

Best to fit them then limp to your local tuner to ensure the car is setup properly.
