spark plug tips white is this normal?

whilst doing compression test today (see other thread loosing coolant) i noticed my plugs are white at the tips which isnt normal surely? they are ngk iridiums which are only a few 100 miles old. when i changed them the standard plugs were a brown/tan colour which i believe is normal

any idea whats causing this, should i lose the iridiums and go for the cossy ones?

Two things it could be, a blown head gasket if there are white deposits on the tips of the plugs or if they are just a white colour then its running lean. post some pictures up so we can see.

Most of the lads fit the .8's like me even on standard map and don't give any trouble. you could always gap yours to the same if you have some fealer gauges, saves buying some new one's mate.
