hmmm bit of an over kill on the brakes lol. they are huge

308mm or 322mm is plenty big enough on an astra

So you have experience of all 3 setups to compare then? All depends what power output you have too.... Standard map astra then 308s may be sufficient, up the power and you need more stopping power. I know the 308s struggle somewhat with 235bhp on mine and will be ditched for 4/6 pots when funds allow

I think 308s leave more than a little to be desired on the braking front

322s are a definite improvement over the 308s but when it comes to brakes, if u can stretch to bigger and better then its always an improvement

These are the brakes Id ideally like for mine but as keeping the 17s for now anyway, they arent a viable option

So in summary, definitely not "over kill" - brakes are brakes and the bigger and more powerful the better.

Definitely looking forward to seeing pictures fitted.

right to take the thread a little of topic... if say a mk4 1.6 16v sxi without abs had these beasty brakes on it... wouldnt the wheels just lock up and skid anyway? i know 308s would be a massive improvement over the standard crap but if the brakes were this big surely the wheels would lock up without abs?
