    ecu chip, which one? arghhhh!!

i've been looking for an ecu chip on the bay but ive been going through the listings and theres chips offering a 15bhp increase and others offering up to a 40bhp increase and many inbetween.

ive just been wondering if anyone has bought an ecu chip off the bay ? If so, what bhp increase did it give? Also did it knacker the car up in anyway? As ive heard some chips can scramble the ecu and render the car usless without a reset ??

Most are not ECU chips, they are nothing more than a 5p resistor which fools your ECU into thinking the air temperature is lower than it actually is, it then overfuels the engine which is not a good thing!
