My car's been playing up for a couple of weeks now, and I'm fast running out of ideas. I changed the crankshaft sensor after I had the code come up for that, and I've also cleaned TB and given her a good service.
the car's still running in limp mode (despite ECU being reset through disconnecting battery overnight) but no codes are being flagged up.
looking at the readings on my scangauge when running it, the only thing I can see that could be amiss is that when on idle (it idles fine) its Closed Loop, then when accelerating it'll suddenly go to Open Loop and the car kangaroo's/stutters/has less power than a pedal car.
IIRC, when the car's on closed loop, the o2 sensors are detecting air flow etc and regulating fuelling accordingly. by the same token, when it's OPEN, the o2 sensor etc isn't working? is this correct?
I have no fault codes coming up at all, except after 20-30seconds of constant acceleration once the loop opens. I get between 1 and 3 of the 301/302/303/304 codes signifying a misfire in that particular cylinder. there's no pattern to how many cylinders misfire or which ones, so I'm at a loss.
I'm sure half of what I've written is just the ramblings of a novice, but on the off-chance what I've put makes a little sense... any thoughts/help please folks?
