    Burning oil smell since fitting vxr turbo?

    Since ive fitted my vxr turbo i seem to be getting a burning oil smell when i put my heaters on even when set to cold, Im getting abit worried now i cant dind any oil leaks anywhere???
    Vxr turbo with 360 bearing and twin oils seals & Evoms dv. Cdti airbox 63mm tophat.Milltex cat back and pre cat.. Regal 245 leh phase 1 ipf remap.Whiteline rarb.

    Did you fit it yourself? Prime the turbo?

    The first thing to check would be your crankcase breathers, probably the most common cause of the cabin smells like oil complaint.

    did u clean out all the pipe work before fitting turbo? intercooler hoses etc

    Yes i did prime the turbo, Where are the crankcase breathers please?

    one on the front right hand side of the rocker cover and another breather at the back left which goes under the crossover

    Ah right i know now ill check them, It didnt do it before on my let turbo..

    its not uncommon for the one under the crossover to split

    Look for the oil return pipe coming from out the bottom off the turbo. If it is leaking you will be able to see the oil around the join and maybe has even started running down the pipe.

    Did you use a new gasket on it when fitting ?
