    Dump Valve

    Heys guys was just wondering if anyone had put a dump valve on the 2.0DTi models and if they sound any good, how easy/hard are they to fit etc etc thanks

    no point really mate as i believe it has a different effect on a diesel to a petrol

    the dump valve wouldnt know when to dump on a derv, you would have to wire in a solenoid to your clutch pedal to tell it when to dump a lot of hassle for a shxt noise + oily engine bay

    People have done them in the past, it wont have half as fantastic a "psshh" noise as a petrol though, as above you need to wire in a solenoid switch behind the clutch pedal. Certainly do-able but if you do do it, dont expect it to be like a petrol sounding dump.

    I made a dump valve for my 1.7td corsa back in 2001 to be honest it was ok but as the guys are saying you'll never get it to sound like a petrol. I'd say your better off with a straight air intake and a big cone filter and you'll hear the turbo flutter on lift off.

    mine did that with a big old cone a nice swoosh noise, although sounded like a broken tractor most of the time lol
