    live to radio

ive just replaced my cdr 500 to a sony cd player, and have also fitted steering wheel controls cableing to the cd player aswell and i now do not have a constant live to the radio to store the time and favourite radio stations and all other features. was wondering if it was either the steering wheel control cabling (from halfords made for vauxhall astra/sony) or wether its something else?

So if I change the yellow wire and the red wire in the block connector that goes into the back of the radio it should solve my problem?
