    polishing speeds

    just bought a new polisher off ebay and it comes with 6 speeds, now whats the best speed to have it set on for maximum results and also i plan on using autoglym srp with it, is this fine or if not can you recommend me the right stuff cheers

    If you don't know what speed you need on your polisher, i wouldn't suggest hitting your paintwork with it straight away, as you'll burn through it and have to get it resprayed, even with only SRP.

    Get a cheap panel from a scrappy, faded red would be ideal, and practice on that.

    As for plastics, bumpers etc, use it on speed one as they can't take anywhere near as much heat as metal panels.

    Is it a rotary or a duel action like the Meguairs G220? If a DA, use speed 3 to spread the polish and speed 5 for working it.

    SRP is no use, its full of fillers and doesn't have enough cut to it. The Sonus polishes are ok, but not very powerful. 3m fastcut or Meguairs #80 & #83 would be a better choice.

    I agree with the above. I have the Meguiars G220 and use speed 3 to spread the polish and then 5 to work it in. Also use the Meguiars products #80 and #83.

    Before I can tell you anything, I need to know what polisher it is. the fact it was bought from ebay doesn't necessarily fill me with hope.

    Ive looked at the ones on ebay they are kak, just grinders really.
    Vxr turbo with 360 bearing and twin oils seals & Evoms dv. Cdti airbox 63mm tophat.Milltex cat back and pre cat.. Regal 245 leh phase 1 ipf remap.Whiteline rarb.

    they prob are mate but rotary ones can harm your paintwork if you dont know what you are doing...
