    mk4 miss fire

Ive only had my car for a week (astra sri 2.2) when suddenly it started to run on 3 cylinders, ive done a compression test and all cylinders are fine, anyone know what could be causing the missfire ?
Ive got a feeling its gonna be an expensive visit to my local garage
If its not broke, dont fix it !

could be another component which when faulty produces a missing sound

The cat is one and the other is the EGR.... may also be something else but the EGR may be a good one to check over first.

Providing it has one fitted that is as some later 2.2s had a blanking plate fitted instead.

mine sounds like it misfires between 3k and 4k revs and if i stay between those revs for long (which happens to be 70mph, so every visit to motorway!) i get the EML light come on

i looked up the fault and its the EGR so might be the same for yours

im sourcing a new one atm

The eml light did come on last week and had it diagnosed as the EGR valve, i took it off and cleaned it then reset the ecu and everything was fine, i cant see it bein the egr causing the fault, theres no power in the car whatsoever its not even driveable, i changed the plugs but that didnt help, could be a fault with coil.
If its not broke, dont fix it !
