mine went into safe mode and wouldnt rev above 3000 rpm with one cone filter put the airbox back on and all was ok, few months later i tried a bigger open ended cone right behind the headlight with no probs yet havent suffered from the dreaded heat soak yet either

youll hear loads of horror stories from ppl who've used cones in the past and adamant the problems experienced were caused with the cone

personally i think its all down to experimentation, try it and see how it reacts with the cone - if u dont like it take it off.

in my case though the cone is rather large so heatsoak and other negativites arent an issue as the size makes up for it

anyway bigger = better when it comes to cones

see my garage for pics if u have been on mars and dont know what it looks like

as long as the filter aint over oiled then u should be fine..... mine was oiled to feck at the ITG factory but theres nothing i can do about it now, it just sometimes gets sucked in thru the turbo and out the back!

    smokescreen FTW

the cone filter is in the bay so sucks a lot of hot air in, with the airbox theres a feed direct to the grill which prevents it, im sure nry will be on soon for a full update or geordiebandit lol

Sorry to sound dumb but is "cosworth" the name of the filter or is it originally for an escort cosworth?

would say its fairly pointless on NA models tho - mine goes straight to turbo so ideal..
