    Hesitation Under Boost

Was having a play against my mates new Clio Sport Cup (The 2.0ltr fast one). Was faster than him in most places, but we tried a 40mph (iirc) roll in third gear... which he pulled away from me for a bit?! I know they're a little bullet and very understated, but it shocked me.

When I put my foot down, the car's boost seemed to hesitate at 3500rpm.
Third gear seems so weak on my Astra unless revving 5000rpm+.

Anyone have any ideas on what this is?

Running stock intercooler, could this be a factor?
Most recent RR was 233BHP & 270 Torques (iirc) - which my friend says is as high as my car could go with the stock intercooler - Not sure if he's correct, but he works for Peugeot, so I take his word for it?

    Cheers.

NGK Iridium plugs. Fitted about 800 miles ago. Did have Denso in there before, but there was a misfire on idle and the NGK's sorted that like the garage said they would. :-S
