    Faulty Hand Brake Light

About two months ago my hand brake warning light came on as i approached a roundabout it then went off again after about twenty seconds.
It then continued to repeat this process every time i approached the same roundabout.
The following month it started appearing again when i was approaching a bend or turn in the road and the same happened again with it disappearing after twenty seconds.

At the moment when i first start my car and pull off my driveway it goes on then off again after twenty seconds, it will then appear again another two or three times before i reach my destination and then stops.

    Any ideas ?????????????

By the way i have a 54 plate astra.

    check your brake fluid level!!!!!!!!!!

ppl automatically assume for some unknown to me reason that its ONLY the handbrake light

NO!!! Its also a low fluid warning light

no doubt the fluid is low and when u turn corners or go on uneven surfaces the low fluid (or whats left of it) drops below the sensor tripping the warning light

could obviously be a faulty sensor on the handbrake itself but first course of action MUST be as above!

Remember if your pads are low you will get this light too as the fluid drops when your pads are low

I bet when the light comes you are brakeing such as aproaching the roundabout or a bend at this piont the fluid level drops below MIN

is there an echo in here

It certainly sounds like this is the likely cause - be good to hear back from the OP to see the results - providing of course he does indeed top up the fluid or check pads!

Yes it does sound like the cause , realy suprising how many people don't realise the hand brake light is also a fluid warning light
