    Any1 moved there H/U

Ive my center console out for painting at the moment, And was thinking of swapping my headunit and storage slot thing around (both holes are the same single DIN size)

I reckon the headunit will be easier to use lower down (shorter distance to reach, and will be better driving at night as the illumination wont be in your face)

im pretty sure the wirings long enough to reach. Only problem i can see is that the back of the h/u wont be supported...

    any info appreciated, Gary

Yeah loads of people have done it.

You using Standard HU? Wouldn't worry about the back not having the screw through it, as aftermarket ones don't have that anyway and fit fine.

Lol i dont see why people swap it around, my opinion it looks dead out of place! but i heard some ppl say it a bit more secure as its more out of sight. oh well. Good luck !

Much better to control in lower slot, can use the headunit while resting hand on gear knob + for me it meant I could put a fold out screen in the top slot haha

no, not using std one, its a pioneer flip front cd h/u.

The std din slot isnt just the cage and rear pin, but also has a brace type thing around the mid of the headunit.

but then again, most cars dont have that, and the cage does all the work.

Thats the reason i first thought about moving mine. Cool, will give it a go, if it looks odd/doesnt work i can always swap it back
