    Rear Drum to Disk Conversion

Im thinking of having a drum to disk conversion. What would be a good guidline price of this if I can supply the parts?

Easiest way is to buy a complete rear disc beam chap

    Is it on a GTE?

Or a Daewoo Nexia GLXi beam (some but not all have rear discs).

Just a thought though, those tend to be rare so not always cheap, you could try a Mk3 astra drum beam and bolt on disc hubs from, say a cav Mk3?
    (using new bolts of course)

Remember you need the handbrake cable for a 16 valve astra gte, coz they are different. Anyone know if the brake flexies are also different?

Also fitting rear discs will upset the front/rear brake bias. You could fit an aftermarket bias adjuster (fiddly and not cheap).
Or fit a complete master cylinder from a rear disc vehicle.
Or the restrictors from a nova (some Mk3 cavs seem to have them too). not abslutely perfect, but seems perfectly ok for most applications.
Or if you are really really keen you could fit the complete ABS system from, say a Mk3 cav which should compensate nicely (I do NOT recommend this option though).

Then there's the antiroll bar, GM spent a lot of time getting these right, you do compromise the handling slightly if you put the rear bar on without the thicker front bar to balance it.

Finally dose anyone know if you can swap a mk3 astra estate rear beam onto a Mk2 estate?
    Is the track the same?
    Will the shocks bolt up?
    Are the springs compatible?
With rear disc fitted, what handbrake cable fits or does it need a custom one?

MK4 is easy enough if you can source caliper carriers etc, cost me about £125 all in for parts and new handbrake cable.

    Not sure on the MK3
