    cdr500 removalon 05 zaf gsi

    i have the removal pins in situ and it will not move, ihave removed the glovebox and there is a grey nylon stud with flats on it at the rear of the cage,is this holding it or am i missing something.thanks

    think you just need to pull a bit harder, pull outwards as well as backwards, they are really tight sometimes

    Hi

    If you are able to insert the tools fully what you may need to do when pulling is push the rings outwards to get a better grip hope this makes sense.

    Assuming your zafira is the early design a star bolt will also hold the cage in place once removed the whole cage will come out.

    I usually use either a PC case slot cover, or an allen key inserted inside the CD slot to give a bit more yank. They're tight, and sometimes have fuzzy tape around them to stop them squeaking or moving.

    If you can get to the back of the stereo you can unplug the connectors first, so you're not trying to do that while pulling the stereo out as well.

    i took glove box out and cut the metal cage out took ages but it was well stuck
