Quick answer needed, shocks on my ACT

    Hi all,

I've got some of the cheap coilies on my ACT atm, but the front is sooo hard on roads near me and next thursday i'm doing the 10 hour drive up to the scottish isles and don't want to rattle my spine out of my skin! lol

Question is, do i put some -60mm springs on the standard shocks for the trip, or can anyone recommend me some good value shock & spring combos??

Ideally i just want the front as the backs fine, but i need it down around 60 as its got a lovely stance on it and i dont want to lose that...

If wacking some 60mm springs on the standard shocks will do for the time being, does anyone know where i can get just fronts rather than a whole set??

Quickest answer as pos as i need to get them ordered and here by wed so i can whip them on!

    Cheers, Nick

-60mm springs on standard shocks will be ok for a while but will kill the shocks over time (maybe4-6 months)
The truth is always the truth even if you haven't realised it yet...

Pfft....the OEM shocks just cannot handle the stiffer spring rate of the lowered springs, whether you go for 60mm or not. Going from Jamex 40mm on OEM shocks (rather harsh and bumpy) to Jamex 40mm on Jamex shocks (very smooth, even at low speeds) proved this to me.

Performance3000 can do the full Jamex 40mm spring/shock set delivered for £199 the last time I checked. Got my shocks from them, had to order them in but can't fault them at all. 5yr spring warranty and 2yr shock warranty too.

Is that a shop or user? Sorry would search but shooting out, will have a look later... Any chance you could post a picture of your car and say what size wheels you have? Want to make sure the stance will be ok!

    Ta, Nick
