did u fit a rubber sealing ring on the plug?

when u say "tight as it can go" did u not use a torque wrench to do it up properly or just keep turnin as much as you could???

could have stripped the thread or anything.....

if it has a sealing ring then u may wanna get a new plug & seal pronto then take it from there

Did you renew the seal ?

There should be a rubber ring on the sump plug. Might be worth checking.

did you re fit the old one or a new one?

i have always fitted a new plug and washer on all cars i have changed the oil on and never had an issue.

the washer is normally squashed when first fitted to get a good seal.

plus you should never over tighten the sump plug washer as the sump is ally so if your not careful you can strip the thread the next time you remove the sump plug.

you don't have too fit a new plug, its just best practic to aviod leaks.

there isn't much more that can be done at this stage, certainly do not try and tigthen it any more as you will damage the sump.

you could put some cardboard under the car to soak up the oil so that it doesn't stain the driveway/garage floor.

is it just a drip every now and then coming of the plug??, if so it won't be lossing a great deal so just keep doing your regular oil checks and top up if required.

i doubt it will be leaking much and it will probably be worse when the engine is warm as th oil is thiner.
