your going to get very mixed opinions mate, i personaly have an open cone filter and it has never run better. I would go with the BMC.

imo you'll hardly notice any power gains , i went from standard box to cone filter and didnt specifically notice any difference, other than there was alot more noise(nice noise) coming out the front of the car. I've heard people on here saying their car did less on RR with Induction kit than with standard, veccy c etc etc. Sooo many different opinions and experiances on this one. lol.

apparently they help towards your powergain, and TBH thats not what im after the now. i will be when i get a faster motor, lol, but if it does then kool, im more about the noise, dont wanna go mad with all the mods to increase BHP when i can wait a couple years and get a nice,fast,motor....if u get my drift

and i dont want a horrible raspberry, rediculously loud noise. i have a custom cat back just now and it sounds really nice but i think a BMC would sort it, although i dont know if de-restricting your airbox makes it sound nice..does it??

Induction kits are imo for the noise,i have a de-restricted air box and put in a k&n pannel filter with the veccy cdti air feed, either way i dont think you will notice any gains by driveing but on paper you may see a few bhp with the de-resticted air box.just depends weather you want the noise?you will also lose power due to heat soak.

i think bmc has cold air feed so shouldnt effect as much as open filter.

Its all about what you prefer, if you want noise, go for induction kit. If your after oe look with possibly a few more bhp if your lucky then go for deristricted box. I've allways been a fan of cone filters, just because i like the noise they make. Makes the car sound meatier than it is imo.

I'm not sure, i havent heard any cars with de-restricted airbox. But i cant imagine it'll give alot more noise, if any.
