    Locking but not alarming?

Is there a way of locking the car without arming the alarm? I know you can turn off the sensors inside but could really do with turning the whole lot off as im having problems with it going off in hot weather. Its the standard vauxhall cat 1 jobby.

Wind down the window with the engine running, get out and close the door. Now switch the engine off and remove the keys through the open window. Finally lock the car with the key holding it in the lock postion to close the window

The car now thinks your inside and the alarm won't set. Unfortunatly you can't deadlock it though
