    what is the pedal test?

    Hi can any one tell me what is the pedal test that people keep going on about on the site.. thanks
    Drives a 53 plate Arden Blue Zafira A Gsi 2ltr turbo...

    its a built in test to give you indication of fault codes stored on the ECU

    get in car, hold brake and accelerater pedal flat to the floor and turn the ignition (NOT ENGINE, just 1st click to show lights on dash) then the Engine light will flash a number of times to give numbers of the code, seperated by pauses and long pause between codes (4 seperate numbers per code)

    the number of flashes gives you the code (remember 10 is classed as 0...)

    for example... 1500 - 1 flash - pause - 5 flashes - pause - 10 flashes - pause - 10 flashes.......

    just tryed this on my zaffy the car with the spanner throught it just kept flashing whats that mean

    mine did that yesterday. Took it for a run, parked up, tried again & it was sorted.

    flashing with no breaks ,,must mean its ok.. as it happened to mine when i tried it too..

    i know this is going to sound stupid but here goes,my car is an 07 plate 1.9cdti AUTO is there any sort of pedal test i can do in my car?cheers.
