    over heating in traffic

    my car has recently started to over heat in traffic, it will climb up to 99deg in 5-10mins of sitting in traffic. theres no oil in the water or head gasket signs so is this normal?

    when you drive does it go down?
    mine is getting a lot hotter as well now, in fairness, recently the weather has been quite hot, i wont worry to much pal...just dont drive to hard all the time at that temperature.

    yea it goes down to 78 and stays there after driving away from the traffic. majority vote says its ok tho.

    mine was runnin up 2 about 95, just fitted one of the uprated alloy rads from jbimotors and its still gettin up to 90 in traffic, cools quick tho.

    my mate took all my cooling pipes off yesterday. they were clogged up with shit and grime. put it all back on, new coolant. doesnt over heat if i leave it idling now

    I may have to try that mate. can you remember what pipes where the worst? Can i get a cooler running fan switch that will fit from another car? ive heard the vectra's have them?
