    anyone insured with bell

basically my insurance runs out at the end of the month so am trying to find the best price.

bell have given me a good standard quote of £1274, which is not bad as im 19 with 1ncb.

and when i declare exhaust and suspention it only goes up to £1392.

but when i click onto intercooler i get:
We are unable to insure a car with this type of modification(s)

it is the same with bell/admiral/elephant.

so has anyone declared a bigger intercooler with bell? if so did you have to call them? and how much did they charge you for it?

    cheers,
    matt

Im with bell there is a funny catch they quoted me £2400 for my sri T if i wanted to pay monthly :| but if i payed a full year right away it was only like £1600 all declared so i payed £1600 right away. Apprently they got alot tighter with mods so they may not alow a bigger intercooler atall.

i dont think they allow intercoler. i am with them and im not allowed a remap on mine. so will get it once i change to flux or someone else.

they allow a fair bit though, i have mine lowered/tints (when the go on)/ exhaust/panel filter, alloys, grille on mine.

just called them, and they won't insure me with a intercooler.

and flux want over £2100, so it would cost me an extra £700.

all just for having a bigger intercooler.

and no one else want's to insure me

    Maybe you smell?

Bell were alright for me last year, let me have a remapped lupo gti but thats a non-turbo and didnt give as much power as a turbo or diesel remap...

Only thing to be careful with with Bell is they offer you a 3rd party on other cars and it even says it in your policy doc's but then if you read the fine print (which i usually dont to be honest and in this case neither did my mate) it says you have to be over 25 for this priviledge to be given to you...

Even though it said it on his docs and he showed police he was still given 6 points driving my car 'uninsured' and they tried to do me for letting him!

the driving other cars, comes up as a £150 option with me.

i think i might look at other cars, naybe a e46 coupe, but they will noly insure me up to a 323 which is only 170 bhp so a lot less power than the astra, but i supose the rear wheel drive might make up for it.

but i just can't afford to pay over £2100 with flux.

Thats what I mean mate, it comes up with an option and they actually take the money off you but technically you are not covered... Its stupid i know!

i could, but ive called them and told them i have one now, so i think they will wan't to know what happened to it.

and i dont fancy being sued for thousands incase i have an accident, and they notice it, which i think they would.

ive just done some calculations, and i think i can just about afford the £2150 if i dont pay mr credit card this month.

but still its 3 months of my small wage, just for car insurance that hopefully won't even be needed.
