    Wheel sealant vs wax?

What does wheel sealant offer over a decent wax? With luck I'll have some freshly refurbished wheels in a few weeks and want to give them some protection before they're rubbered up and fitted.

I have some Pete's 53, is there any benefit to using a 'true' wheel sealant which I'd have to buy, or would a few coats of Pete's offer the same protection?

If sealant is better, what would you recommend for lastability more important than looks? The wheels will be metallic silver powder coat - similar in finish to the OEM SXi alloys I have now.

I use this chris, works a treat. easy to apply and when you wash the wheels the brake dust comes off easier.

poorboys or chemical guys sealant would be better than Pete's 53. they are a bit more durable and cope with the heat better.

So you'd wash them, polish with SRP then apply this? I've been meaning to get some sealant for a while, just never gotten round to it.

I got some sealant. Can't remember which one. Its orange and I made the mistake of applying it using my hand to rub it in to all the nooks and crannies. Managed to dye my hands orange. Stuff is like perma tan. lol. But it was pretty good.

I assume there's no point polishing freshly powder coated alloys though?

I like the other PoorBoys products I have, so will give the wheel sealant a go

Don't you have to let them cure/harden or something before applying anything to them? 3 weeks or something like that? Is that the case with freshly painted things?

Not sure for powder coat as this is baked on so should be rock solid as soon as it's cooled?
