    failed mot on uneven rear braking 2001 zafira 2.2 elegance

    hi my zafira 2.2 elegance failed mot this morning on uneven braking at rear ,the car has had pads replaced recently but the mechanic who moted it says it is probably the sliders need freeing up can anybody give me info on this please

    I recently cured this problem on my mates 2.2sri, i stripped off the back caliper and cleaned up and greased the locating pin/sliding sleeve etc but i found as you may well that it was a partially siezed caliper piston. if so the piston can be replaced but if you are unsure on how to do this it is much easier to buy a recon caliper on the affected side. this is what i did and it worked a treat. Also check that the flexi pipe to caliper is not blocked, i have come accross this a few times on vauxhalls where they collapse inside and it causes uneven brakes on MOT rollers, that don't seem to show up on the road so much
