    Headlight Wiring question

    I have just discovered that:
    a) My Morettes have the mechanism for electric level adjusters
    b) The motors for this can be unclipped from my old lights and used in the morettes.

    Which is good.

However, the motor will be in a different location on the Morettes (up high and behind the indicator) than it was to the standard units (down low). On inspecting the wires and plug on the car for this facility last night, it simply isnt going to be long enough to reach the plug on the motor.

My question is, how do I make the 2 wires longer? I know nothing about electrics so didnt want to touch anything before asking first. How do I know what type and ampereage(sp) of wire to use and where could I buy it?

    Any help much appreciated

sounds like your looking at things in too much detail here my friend, i also recently purchased a set of morrettes, and fitted the motors from my old lights, and to be fair it was just a case of plug and play, did u get the original fitting instructions with them?

my headlight motors are in working condition, but to be honest they dont move the lights all that much - pretty pointless in my opinion, but to answer your questions, go to a motor factors, and or the dreaded halfords, take one of the looms with you and buy a wire that is similar in size and colours if you can to the originals, amperage and type dont really come into this, just use what you have as a comparison and you wont go far wrong.

if you need a deek at the instructions give me a shout

    Cheers guys

I bought them 2nd hand so they didnt come with the extension cables.

I have managed to plug in the o/s one and I agree that they are pointless!Only moved the light up and down a small amount. So I've just adjusted up the dipped beams to a fixed position and that will do me for now lol.
