    Question 2003 1.7 tdi eco4 isuzu engine

I have had my astra now for around three years I am only the second owner.
The original owner is a company, there was very little service history with the car and it is now approaching 79000 miles.
I have been told so many different intervals for timing belt renewal.
Does anyone know the actual mileage to change it ??
Also when looking for qoutes to change it they varied from £130 to £400 ???

    Any advise would be great
If any one knows of any good garages near coventry .....

I'd stick with 40,000/4 years miles to be safe.

assuming yours is the cdti, it's a much easier job, as there's no pump timing to worry about.

    no it's the 1.7TDi isuzu 16 valve
most garages tell me 100000 but that seems real high to me
vaux recomend 40000 but say the actual is 80000.
talked to comeone the other day that has done 126000 with no change but his was a CDTi ??
thanks for the advise think i will just go get it done to be safe have heard its fairly terminal if it goes ping ...

vauxhall did state 80k miles for the V6s, but after a lot of failures it got knocked back to 40k.

My service book still says 80k though.
