    Lock Problem

    Just trying to lock my car today and I press the button on the remote to lock, it locks briefly then unlocks straight away. Did this about five times before finally locking it.

    Only happens occaisionally....

    1.8 SRi 2002.

    any ideas people?

    check there is nothin blocking any of the rods or anythin and u sure the door was fully shut !

    doors always fully shut... might get the doorcard off tomorrow and sit in the car and lock it see what i can see

    You may have a dodgy lock/motor that is a bit sticky.

    Will certainly be a faulty lock motor. When you lock your car. Look to see which pin doesnt go down. That will be the one thats faulty. You should still be able to lock all the doors the old fashioned way (putting the key in the lock lol) unless the lock solinoid is also fudged.

    Used lock motors can be bought for as little as £6 delivered from Ebay (Got a drivers door one for £6 off there not long ago and was in excellent condition).
    Removal and fitting is a pain in the arse as you have to pass the motor and cables through the inside of the door around the windows components.

    Total job should take about an hour if you know what your doing. Bit longer if your not too sure
