    car jolting between gear change....

Hi folks, hope someone can help me here.

Since i've had the car, when i change gear there is a slight loss of power then a big jolt of power. which results in a kangaroo jump, only lasts a split second, but still annoying all the same. don't think it makes a difference if the engine is cold or hot. Also when reversing it seems like its about to stall all the time, car starts to judder don't know what relevance if any that has. i tried blanking off egr to see if this had any differnce on it but nothing. have cleaned the throttle body top half whilst still on car.
have even tried leaving revs off till very late but still no difference.

    Any info much appreciated lads.

I already have a blanking plate on, have been told i won't feel any effect untill i get it taken off the ecu. Which leads me to this question, I phoned my local vaux they said they can take it off the ecu for 40 quid. which is all well and good. but i have a friend who logged the central locking key/immobilsier. would i be better off paying that bit extra and making sure its done properly or do i risk my mate doing it for cheep? is there any risks in this?

Sorry for long post lads..... and thanks for any replys
