Thumbs Up potentially found a new car

What does every one think of this??
only reason he's selling it is because he can't get his missus insured on it without a rediculous price tag.... what should i be watching out for? cambelt has been done at 98k the usual wear and tear on the seats.

and i do remember people telling me to watch out for blue smoke on start up?

    http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1014187.htm

Might be willing to swap for mine .... (willing) so not 100% on that though.

    What does everyone else think?

Just do the usual checks under the oil cap and header tank? May be other hints but i have never brought a turbo car! I would jump at the chance despite the mileage As long as service etc is all ok and upto date it should be ok! You got a mechanic friends you can get to have a look?

just make sure the turbos been replaced + usual things. If its 100+k miles then realisticly it should have had the timing belt changed twice at least at 40 and 80k miles.

The original turbo wont last 100k so check it isnt smoking or has been replaced etc.

I'm not jealous, I got the irmscher kit too!

Mind you that has got a hell of a lot of mileage for a turbo'd car, mine only has 55k on the clock.

Just look out for rocker cover gasket, the turbo and I'd check the exhaust. Mainly as mine snapped on the first day of ownership

Yeah, literally just around the cam cover, or if they have wiped it, look down the side of the engine. To be really thorough you could remove the spark plug cover to make sure they aren't covered in oil. Remember its only a tenner to fix!

To be honest, just make sure it sounds healthy, if it is genuinely standard is should be fine.
