Smile Project Bump strip -> colour coding

Well, been a busy boy the last few days!

I've been thinking the last while of colour coding the bump strips and side skirts.

I thought for the time being i would get the bump strips out of the way, so here goes:

First off, taking them off the car, very easy. Wrapped a piece of 2x4 in a towel and gave it a whack! they came off, no clips broken

Sealed my car up with gaffa tape:

Gave the strips a good sand down with 200 grit sand paper until nice and smooth.

    Got the primer out:

Primed them, about 5 coats with light sanding in between:

Sprayed them, lacquered them and put them back on!

Looks good if I do say so my first attempt at using rattle cans

Looks good mate. Need to get my ass into gear and do mine, although I'm worried that my Flame Red bodywork is faded a little bit so might look odd against the bump strips...

Thanks! i know what you mean, you could always give it a good T Cut and polish it up. Its really worth doing. I love flame red and it'd look real smart with your car colour coded and polished up

take the colour code into halfords/other paint shop and they can mix it and put it in a spray tin. Costs a bit more than the off the shelf ones, think ther 10.99 or there abouts
It would definitely go better with an engine in it
