    My Jack Just Failed :( :@!

    i was in the garage there taking my wheel off to clean the brakes and locate an anoyin squeek and my stupid jack failed and pride and joy smacked right off the ground :'( .... my irmscher bumpers cracked now and the solid brake disc saved the car from any more damage ! I HOPE !!!! so thats why im on to see do you think my car will be ok after her fall ? could nything bad have happened ?

    Allways use axle stands when the car is jacked up

    gutted for you mate.

    i had a cavalier stolen years ago and it was found resting on the discs as the wheels were taken.

    the only damage was a couple of bent dust covers rubbing off the discs, just straightened them out and fitted new wheels and all was good.

    apart from the bumper i dont think it should be too bad. did the jack do any damage?

    I've gone one better mine fell off 2 rear axle stands I was lucky as it only cracked my skirt

    ano good job a wasnt underneath , lucky because i was actually underneath it yesterday jacked up with the same jack seeing how to fit my new straight through pipe :| ... yea hopefully wen i take it a run in the mornin all will be good ! and the jack didnt do any damage it went straight for the ground and my brake disc made a big chunk out the garage floor too lol ....

    lucky ! ... following up on zafgsi comment a think my squeek is tht same problem because i looked behind where the dust guard is and its made a wee groove where its been rubbing i think , so i bent it back and hopefully tht shud do the trick ...

    If it was the standard vauxhall - they not very good at all and have been told that they only for emergencies?

    im hoping it was a trolley jack and if so need to know whick type

    cant recall the last time i used one of those nasty things supplied with a car!

    You are alive, people get killed for not using axel stands. NEVER go under a car if you are only using a jack. PLEASE!
