    Unhappy need bit of help

    just been out in the car few miles away from home and my car goes all funny speedo stop's working the ABS TC lights come on along with the light which looks like a car with a spanner on it car drove fine but lights did not go away and the speedo anit working ?? help me guys

    car is 53 gsi turbo

    just done the pedal test got 0500 ?? just done a search on the forums found its P0500 - Vehicle Speed Sensor Malfunction. big job 2 fix??

    just one thing when i did the pedal test it gave me the same code twice ??

    check it 1st as might have been knocked or something and out of aline but yer its a case of unbolt and new 1

    update........ just been round block in the car all lights have gone of speedo is working when i got back did pedal test agen and got

    0500
    0500

    not sure what 2 do next thinking about geting a new wheel bearing hub. will unpulg old abs sensor and clean it 1st but how do i know fault is clear if pedal test keeps giving me 0500 ?

    codes will stay in the ecu even though it working could just be a bit of dirt etc thats y i said check it

    3 ways of removing code

    1,disconect battery ( ignition on other wise alarm will go off )

    2, disconect the ecu plug by the battery

    both you will have to leave off for at least 20 mins

    3 fault code tool

    so i guess i got 2 disconnect the battery check the sensor give it a clean then connect battery and check 4 faults agen ?? when doing the pedal test why does it give me same code twice ??

    only coz it found the code twice it will store any code a number of times
