    Courtenay Top Hat

As some of you may know about how restricted the inlets are on the Z20LE* engines i decided to treat mine to one of these:

Pic to show you the difference:

Direct replacement for the standard restricted tophat.

I also bought a black rocker breather pipe as the blue courtenay ones go a browny colour for some reason..

Should hopefully get it all fitted this week.

Here it is in Courtenays words:

"Our new High Flow Plenum is designed for all 2.0 Turbo Z20LEx engines. The plenum has been designed to allow more air flow through its enlarged housing, which has a 25% larger cross sectional area than OE (original equipment). It has been cast in alluminium specifically to give it an OE look, but leaving the option open to have the item polished or powder coated as necessary. This plenum has been proven up to 400 bhp, where on these engines the inlet manifold becomes a restriction and further major changes have to then be made to the inlet manifold, throttle body and associated pipework".

I have just customised it along with some other parts too:

All painted up along with some other things

Really happy with the finish on these

Not perfect yet but getting there....

looks good, but sorry to say mate, you shouldn't have wasted your money with CS. I personally would have spent the cash on a 63mm tophat and pipe work from L0ad3d aka Rich.

    Monster size pipework.

...which has a 25% larger cross sectional area than OE...
which would make the new diameter 63.75mm if the old one was 51mm

only way to find out the size is to have someone who has brought one to measure
    25% could me a 2 things
cross sectional area or diameter they have 2 VERY different outcomes
if the pipe fits onto a vxr pipe neatly then its only 2 1/4 inch as thats what a vxr is
