Question Astra G SRi vs Astra H SRi: 0-60?

Currently looking at upgrading my Mark 4 Sri for a Mark 5 Sri - one thing about the technical specs I wonder if anyone can aswer; The Mark 4 has 125BHP and a 0-60 time of 8.5 secs whereas the Mark 5 is showing the same BHP, but an increased 0-60 time of 10 secs? Wanted to check if this is correct - I like the look of the H sri in 3 door, but don't really want to pay out any more to make it the same as my current model performance wise...

    Cheers.

The mk5 will be heavier so this is why it loses some performance 0-60 even with more power, you may found it will have a different power band than your car that you might actually like more, dont just look at a cars 0-60 and dismiss it, go and drive it and see what you think.

Yeah, heavier car. I'd be surprised if there was any 'real' difference on the road between the two though. The later ones have the 138bhp VVT engine which offers a little more poke. Still not a car to buy for performance though.

The other point that's been missed is the fact that the 8.5 second 0-60 time for the "G" always seemed a bit hopeful to me. It never felt like it could do it in that space of time.

They definitely do. I loved mine to pieces. My Civic is a similar 0-60 time though and it feels a lot quicker off the mark.

Sorry if it sounded like I was slating 1.8's there. Not my intention at all. Just never thought it felt like an 8.5 0-60.
