    2.2 SRI Cat Problems

    Hi all,

I am looking for assistance. My Mk 4 2.2 SRI remaped with panel filter and full exhaust (Cat aswell), keeps puting the EML on.

It says the cat effectiveness level is below thresh-hold. Obvious you may think with it being a tiny free flowing sports cat but:

Is there some way I can tech 2 it so that I runs like there is no cat? I would like to de-cat but I got done with the road side tester before so not too keen.

What do you guys do when you take out the cat? just drive with the light on??

Everytime I leave the garage I feel like I've been ***** by a black man!! It's driving me nuts...

Its coming up with that code because the cat isn't good enough. Tech 2 can't reprogram the ecu to say the cat isn't there.

Thanks for the suggestion, but no. the cat is brand new, the remap is causing this-for sure.

its a sports cat therefore neither

you could get an o2 cheater which sits the sensor proud of its original location so as u can imagine only a percentage of the original gases are detected

these are commonly available although could probs easily be knocked up by a quality exhaust outfit as its just a threaded spacer.

what map have you got? was it a live one? maybe the originator could offer a fix for it somehow

Thanks dude, I have another post about a lambda fooler. By my understanding it plugs in between the sensor and the car to make the ECU think that all is fine.
I have the local power flow place looking into it. If the could be bulk bought would there be a market on here????
I would buy one if someone can get a hold of them.
