    Engine cutting out & missfiring

Hi, my car seems to just cut out when idling at junctions/traffic lights. The revs don't jump or anything, idles nice and steady, but just cuts out without any warning. When this happens, I can sometimes hear something whining down. But car will always start again first time, no probs.

Also when driving, always when doing a steady speed, the car will missfire. This used to cause the eml to come on for a few minutes, but seems to just stay on now.

I have changed the spark plugs to no avail, also had a tech 2 test done which bought up faults for the air mass meter, which I changed but did not fix the problems. The other code was for a oxygen sensor but the mechanic doesn't think this will fix it.

Has anyone had these probs, or know what it might be? as I dont want to just keep throwing money at it. Its a X18XE1 with 105k on the odometer

    Any help appreciated

Air mass meter code is probably coming up as it keeps stalling. Sound like a throttle body problem to me.

I thought this and have already cleaned the TB, this does not seem to have helped the problem
