    Q on the Puma

There's a Puma for sale around here. Don't know too much about it as the ad in the window only has the price (£1,100 down from about £1,400 a few week ago), and a phone number.
    Taking the plate shows that it's a 1.7 & it's on an R-plate.

The g/f loves the look of these although she's never driven one. Oh & it's in that purple-like colour that they do.

Having a look at the stats, it looks fairly even-ish with my Astra 1.8, except the Puma is lighter. So is it fair to say then that the Puma would be quicker?

That aside, the 1.7 bumf probably equates to being too costly for her. Is the 1.4 variant ok?

I've only spoken to 1 lad about these before at work, but he's of the kind that unless it has a VW badge on it, then it's auto-shit

The engine to go for is the 1.7 but the 1.4 will be ok. Remember all they are is a fiesta in a fancy dress

i'd go for the 1.7 if it was me, but apparently the 1.4 is almost as quick as a mk5 fiesta zs. lowering and some zippy racing rear spacers will sort the handling!

Look round the rear arches for rust of bad repairs as they rust badly.
